Worlds 2024 Main Stage Starts Here – Day 1 Swiss Stage Match Schedule at LoL World Championship 2024

The Play-In stage of the League of Legends World Championship 2024 is over. All the participants for the Swiss Stage, or group stage, of Worlds 2024 have been determined, and it begins on October 3.
The Swiss Stage of Worlds 2024 is exciting because all of the best teams of the year, including T1, Gen.G, Bilibili Gaming, TES, and others, will join the battle for the Summoner’s Cup. We can’t wait for the high-quality matches to start. If you're excited too, take a look at the match schedule for the first day of the LoL World Championship 2024 featuring 16 teams.
Day 1 at Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage Overview
The first day of the LoL World Championship 2024 starts on October 3 at 14:00 CET. In total, eight matches will take place on the first day, meaning all the Swiss Stage participants will compete.
Note that the match start times are approximate, as the matches will follow a "follow by" system, meaning the next pair will begin after the previous one concludes, with only a minimal break.
Bilibili Gaming vs. MAD Lions KOI (Oct. 3, 14:00 CET)
The opening match of Day 1 at the World Championship 2024 Swiss Stage will be between Bilibili Gaming (LPL) and MAD Lions KOI (LEC). The LPL Summer 2024 champions and the MSI 2024 silver medalists, Bilibili Gaming, will face MAD Lions KOI, the last-seeded European team, in what is expected to be an uneven battle. Check out the match preview to find out why.
Top Esports vs. T1 (Oct. 3, 15:00 CET)
The second match on the LoL World Championship 2024 Day 1 schedule is between T1 (LCK) and Top Esports (LPL). This classic rivalry between South Korea and China in competitive League of Legends promises to be one of the most exciting matches of Day 1 at the Swiss Stage, as either team could come out victorious.
The intrigue is heightened by T1’s current form (the 4th seed from the LCK) and their previous matchups against Top Esports (T1 took the title from TES at the Esports World Cup 2024). Of course, we must not forget that T1 is the best team in League of Legends history with four Worlds championships and the current defending champion, making them the team everyone wants to defeat.
Gen.G vs. Weibo Gaming (Oct. 3, 16:00 CET)
The third match on the Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage Day 1 schedule will be Gen.G (LCK) vs. Weibo Gaming (LPL). Both teams are considered favorites for this year’s title. Gen.G has had an outstanding year, winning the LCK Spring, MSI, and finishing as the runner-up in LCK Summer. Meanwhile, Weibo Gaming reached the grand final of Worlds 2023 last year. This match is sure to be as thrilling as the T1-TES showdown, as discussed in our match preview.
Fnatic vs. Dplus KIA (Oct. 3, 17:00 CET)
Midway through the first day of the LoL World Championship 2024 Swiss Stage is the match between Fnatic (LEC) and Dplus KIA (LCK). Last year, Fnatic had a strong start in the Swiss Stage, winning their Bo1 matches, but failed to advance to the next stage. In contrast, Dplus KIA made it to the playoffs before being eliminated in the first round. The advantage lies with the LCK team, as discussed in our match forecast.
Liquid vs. LNG (Oct. 3, 18:00 CET)
The fifth match on Day 1 of the LoL Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage will be Liquid (LCS) vs. LNG Esports (LPL). This is yet another West vs. East battle in the setting of the World Championship 2024.
After their performance at the Esports World Cup 2024, Liquid is expected to achieve good results, at least in the early stages of the Swiss Stage, where Bo1 matches will be played. As for LNG Esports, they made it to Worlds 2024 thanks to their victory at the LPL Regional Finals and were unsure if Scout would be able to play in the main lineup until the last minute. It seems he will, and LNG will be a tough test for Liquid, as mentioned in the match preview.
HLE vs. PSG Talon (Oct. 3, 19:00 CET)
Next up is the match between HLE (LCK) and PSG Talon (PCS). The LCK Summer champions will debut at Worlds 2024 against the PCS champions, who have already passed the Play-In stage. This is expected to be one of the most straightforward matches, despite the respect for PSG Talon. The latter struggled against teams like MAD Lions KOI, making it hard to imagine them defeating the top-seeded LCK team, as we discussed in the match preview.
FlyQuest vs. GAM Esports (Oct. 3, 20:00 CET)
The penultimate match on the LoL World Championship 2024 Day 1 schedule will be between FlyQuest (LCS) and GAM Esports (VCS). This will be one of the less significant matchups in terms of global impact, as we mentioned in our prediction.
The winner of this match will secure their first victory and a 1-0 record, which is a meaningful achievement for both clubs. Overall, this match is worth watching, so don’t miss it.
G2 Esports vs. paiN Gaming (Oct. 3, 21:00 CET)
The final match on the LoL World Championship 2024 Swiss Stage Day 1 schedule will be between G2 Esports (LEC) and paiN Gaming (CBLOL). The absolute champion of Europe, one of the four top regions, and the 2019 Worlds runner-up will face a team playing in the World Championship for only the second time in history. The outcome seems clear, as mentioned in our G2 Esports vs. paiN Gaming prediction, but if paiN manages to win the Bo1 series, it will be the biggest upset of Day 1.
