One of the central tournaments of February is gaining momentum. Big CS2 is back on our screens with the PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR matches.

In one of the first matches we will see a match between G2 Esports and Into The Breach. The format of the match, as before, is Bo1.

We are trying to figure out which of the teams will be stronger and at the end of the match will earn the first victory in the PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR, and who will have to start the qualifying event with a loss.

G2 Esports uniforms

Let's open the match analysis with the analysis of G2 Esports form. In this match, the European team will play as favourites with odds to win at around 1.2.

Almost all of last year G2 Esports did not leave the podiums of major championships. Their rise as a TOP team started with BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023 and IEM Katowice 2023. Both championships G2 passed confidently and at two tournaments they deservedly became champions.

Next, the "samurai" were stormy. Last season ESL Pro League Season 17 G2 Esports finished on the 9-12 line, which is clearly not the level of the team that recently won Katowice 2023.

After a frankly weak performance at EPL Season 17 G2 Esports played at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. NiKo and company had a real fiasco in Paris, as the tournament for them ended at the TOP-14 stage, which certainly did not fit into G2's plans.

Before ESL Pro League Season 18, G2 Esports made their mark on several other major tournaments. These were BLAST Premier: Spring Finals and Fall Groups, where G2 took top 4 and top 8 respectively.

Next up was IEM Cologne 2023 and finally a win. In the Grand Final they beat ENCE 3-1, thus taking another IEM title for the year.

The last championship was Gamers8. The biggest commercial tournament of the season ended with G2 Esports in the top 4.

G2 Esports started off ESL Pro League Season 18 with a betting tirerable win. They beat Lynn Vision 2-0 in their opening match, but to be fair, they were close to a fiasco on the first map. However, G2 Esports subsequently made it to the play-offs, and straight into the quarter-finals, where they met MOUZ. The Mice outplayed G2 Esports and later became EPL S18 champions.

G2 Esports attended two more events before competing at BLAST Premier: World Finals 2023. These were BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2023 and IEM Sydney 2023. Both tournaments saw the team finish in the Top 4 stage. There was also CCT Online Finals #5, where G2 showed a frankly mediocre result. The titular European club failed to make it to the top 2 and get a slot to the Global Finals, and settled for only the top 4.

Prior to the PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR G2 Esports played at three top tournaments before the Long Convergence PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR G2 Esports. BLAST Premier: World Final 2023, BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024 and IEM Katowice 2024 and they finished in the top 6. It looks good, but it's still not the same for the G2 Esports level.

G2's main map is Ancient. G2 has played 8 matches there, of which they won 6.

Next is Anubis (3 games, 2 wins), Vertigo (5 matches, 3 wins), Inferno (12 matches, 58% wins).

G2 Esports has no minus winnings on mapx. Among the "worst" choices are Nuke (7 matches, 4 wins), Mirage (4 wins, 4 losses).

Into The Breach form.

We continue the match analysis with the analysis of Into The Breach's form. In this match the team will play as an outsider, with odds to win at around 5.

The 21st team of the world ranking is deservedly in the outsider status. All because of fresh results, first of all Ninjas In Pyjamas.

However, it is difficult to call ITB a completely passable opponent and even NiP. In the 2023 season, the team made a lot of noise.

If the half-year started with very mediocre results like TOP-16 at CCT South Europe and TOP-24 at CCT North Europe, it continued with landmark results on the international stage. ITB surprised with a top-3 finish at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 European RMR A, but the main sensation was the Main Event and the only Major of the season - Paris Major.

Into The Breach made it to the championship play-offs, where they lost to future world champions Vitality in the first round. All in all, decent.

However, Into The Breach has yet to establish itself as a competitive team due to its fickleness. After a spectacular appearance in the play-offs of the Major, ITB did not show any results. The only small result was a top-8 finish at the Elisa Invitational Spring 2023 and a win at the local ESL Premiership Spring 2023.

Later ITB played IEM Cologne 2023. We played with mediocre success, finishing in the top 24. Then there were a number of local championships with rare successes.

For example, Into The Breach finished in the top 12 at CCT Online Finals #2 and in the top 16 at Thunderpick World Championship 2023: European Series #1. There was also a Top 8 at CCT Central Europe Series #7 and a Top 16 at CCT East Europe Series #1.

The most "successful" period can be called September of this year. Then Into The Breach took TOP-3 at Polska Liga Esportowa Superpuchar 2023 with TOP-3 there, RES Western European Masters Fall 2023 with TOP-2 there and Thunderpick World Championship 2023: European Series #2 with TOP-4 there.

Then there are a number of failed tournaments and they are all from the CCT series. Those were CCT Online Finals #3 with a top-16, top-16 at CCT East Europe Series #2, top-8 at CCT North Europe Series #8. Before playing their fifth Online Finals, ITB won CCT East Europe Series #4 and Top-4 at CCT Online Finals #4. Next, ITB played at CCT Online Finals #5, where the result was not much better than before, but only worse: already Top 12.

In 2024 we unsuccessfully tried to get through the qualifiers at the big IVent. They finished with TOP-8 at IEM Chengdu 2024, TOP-4 at RES Western Europe Qualifier, TOP-32 at IEM Katowice 2024.

Best map ITB in 90 days - Vertigo. In 9 maps 66% wins.

Next is Overpass with 66% wins, but already for 6 maps. In principle, Anubis or Ancient would be a normal option. Both have 50% wins, but Anubis has been played 10 times and Ancient 6 times.

What ITB don't want to play is Mirage. Only 3 wins in 10 games there.
