We continue to slowly but surely get to grips with the upcoming IEM China 2024, This is an Intel Extreme Masters Series tournament that will award $250,000 and a slot at IEM Cologne 2024 to the winner.

There will be a total of 16 teams divided into 2 groups in the race for the prizes. We're talking about what's happening in Group B, where Monte and Astralis, among others, will be battling it out for passage to the play-offs.

They will start the road to the play-offs with a face-to-face meeting. We will try to predict who will be stronger in this confrontation and will not be one step closer to the play-offs.

Astralis form

We open the match analysis with the analysis of Astralis' form. In this match, they play the first number one, and the odds for a win are at around 1.4.

The Danish club had a difficult period. They tried their best to "return" to the TIR-1 scene, but they constantly fell short: Astralis finished top-20 at ESL Pro League Season 17 and top-14 at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR B.

At lesser tournaments, however, Astralis fared well. The world's most titled team finished Top 2 at Brazy Party, won CCT South Europe Series #4 and finished Top 4 at Pinnacle Cup V.

Returning to the S-Tier Championships, Astralis took Top 6 at IEM Masters Dallas 2023 and Top 8 at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups.

Prior to the BB Dacha, Astralis attended a number of other events. Those were ESL Pro League Season 18 and Roobet Cup 2023, where the once stellar Danes finished in the Top 16.

Just before the Long Convergence, BB Dacha Astralis finished in the Top 4 at CS Asia Championship 2023 and Top 8 at BLAST Premier: Fall Finals. The swing in performance is primarily due to roster manipulation.

The latest additions to Astralis are stavn and jabbi. A couple came in with Heroic, who they bid farewell to on not-so-pleasant notes. That said, it's a reinforcement however you look at it.

The debut tournament for the roster was Dacha, where the Danes finished in the top 8. Then the new season began, which Astralis opened with a performance at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Qualifier B. There they took TOP-3, which was enough to pass to RMR.

Before IEM Katowice 2024 they played at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024. According to the results of the championship Danes broke through to the TOP-6 and it was enough to get to the BLAST Premier: Spring Final. The IEM Katowice 2024 Astralis failed in the dust and dust: took the top 32, not passing the Play-In stage.

Then there were two attempts to make it to the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, but both were unsuccessful: TOP-11 at European RMR B and TOP-6 at European RMR Decider put an end to Astralis' participation in the home Major.

Monte's form

We continue our match review with an analysis of Monte's match form. In this match they will play as the number two with odds to win around 3.

Before the Long Spring IEM Cologne 2023 they had a series of unsuccessful tournaments. They finished top-16 at another CCT, this time North Europe Series #5, and top-8 at the Elisa Invitational Spring 2023.

After a great run at BLAST.tv Major 2023, Monte left the headliner of that roster - BOROS - and was replaced by Astralis Talent member - Danish br0.

Monte rolled out the roster at Play-In IEM Cologne 2023, where they defeated Brazilian teams twice: first Imperial 16-9 and then FURIA 2-1 in the series. Monte beat GamerLegion in the group stage, but were unable to face more serious opponents like Heroic. IEM Cologne 2023 ended with a match against Cloud9. Monte tried, but Ledgeilie more titled club with a score of 0-2.

Before ESL Pro League Season 18 played a number of local championships. Among them were CCT Series tournaments, where Monte finished in the top 4, and top 2 at CCT North Europe Series #7, and there was also Pinnacle Cup V, where the Ukrainian club again finished in the top 4.

In the debut match at ESL Pro League Season 18 they met with the Germans from BIG. As expected, the match was equal, especially on the first two maps, but the decisive one was very lopsided: 16-5 in favour of BIG and Monte fell to the lower grid.

In the first round of the lower grid Monte played with the nominally weakest participants of Basket B - Australians from Rooster. It looked like they were going to close with a 2-0 score, but it turned out that there was no need to be happy before the time, and Monte Ledge were on the first card, but then cameback, thus turning the series in their favour.

In the previous match Monte played against MIBR. As in all other matches on ESL Pro League, the game was tense and hard, but in the end the Brazilians triumphed.

Next, Monte managed to get through the last chance net. First they outplayed Heroic with a score of 1-2, and then took revenge on MIBR.

After a real success in the group, Monte made it to the first round of play-offs. There they showed a very serious level of play, defeating Fnatic, Complexity and then Vitality. They were beaten by NaVi, winning the semi-finals 2-0.

Before playing at Roobet Cup 2023, Monte played at IEM Sydney 2023, where they showed a pretty good, but not perfect, game. Monte finished the Sydney tournament at the top-8 stage.

Monte played their debut match at Roobet Cup 2023 against OG. They won 2-0, running over their opponents on class.

Monte qualified for the Roobet Cup 2023 play-offs after a solid win over NiP. The match, by the way, was very intense, although it ended 2-0, the two maps were a struggle: 13-11 Overpass, 16-14 Mirage.

In the quarter-finals Monte faced Movistar Riders. The Ukrainian club defeated their Spanish counterparts 2-0. Then there was another victory over Aurora, but in a more difficult match (2-1 in favour of Monte). But the Roobet Cup 2023 grand final was not enough. Monte met Vp, gave a fight, but lost with a score of 1-2.

In parallel with the game at Roobet Cup 2023 Monte played at Thunderpick World Championship 2023, where at the time of writing this betting thread they were waiting for their semi-final opponent.

In the first High Group match at ESL Challenger Season 46, the team played against a tough French ѕtask Looking4Org. So tough that those won with a score of 2-1.

In the last match of the group stage Monte faced SINNERS Esports. Being the clear favourite to win, the Ukrainian club lost to the Czechs somehow toothlessly, thus sending themselves to the first round of the lower net. As a result, Monte withdrew from the tournament due to a busy schedule.

Next, the club had a very good Challenger in Atlanta, where they managed to reach the top 4, a failed IEM Katowice 2024 with the final top 12 and a win at RES Eastern European Masters: Spring 2024 with a subsequent entry to the Spring Showdown from BLAST.

At PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B started with a loss to ECSTATIC, then beat NEXUS and then Ledge and Apeks. It all ended with a loss to Astralis.

Monte went on to finish top-12 at RES European Series #1 and top-8 at BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024.

Monte's mappool

Monte's best map is Ancient. Monte has 7 wins in 9 matches. However, Mirage can also be called a signature choice for the Ukrainian club: it has been played 13 times and won 10 of them.

Things are not bad on Anubis, where Monte has 8 wins and 4 losses.

The worst is Vertigo. There Monte have a statistic of 2-4.
