Representatives from the tournament organizing entity ESL have revealed their plans to host a Dota 2 championship in Malaysia boasting a prize pool of one million dollars. The official ESL YouTube channel recently released a video announcement regarding this exciting event.
Scheduled to run from December 11th to December 17th, the tournament will feature the participation of 12 teams. As of now, the specific teams set to compete in the championship remain undisclosed. Notably, Kuala Lumpur had previously hosted a Dota 2 event known as The Kuala Lumpur Major, which was organized by PGL.
During that event, Virtus.pro emerged victorious as the champions. In a thrilling grand final, the lineup led by Alexey "Solo" Berezin managed to secure a 3:2 victory over Team Secret.
