Prize pool of the TI9 exceeded $18,000,000
At the moment the approximate sum of the collected money equals $18,013,175. We should mark that last year the same period resulted in $4,000,000 less for The International 2018, which is $14,074,516. In 2017, TI raised $14,317,368 in 36 days, while in 2016 — $12,575,146, and the prize pool of TI5 on the 36 day equalled $12,232,569.
Let's mark the fact that the sharp spike of raising the money happened on 8 June. On this very day the first chest of The International 2019 Collector’s Cache, which brought 18 new packs of heroes. All the sets were chosen from the workshop not by the developers, but the players with the help of voting.
The world Dota 2 championship will be taking place from 15 till 25 August in Shanghai. From 15 till 19 August the matches of the group stage and on 20 August the meetings of the playoff starts. Twelve invitations will be given to the best participants in the Dota Pro Circuit season who will get the biggest amount of DPC points. Team Secret, Virtus.pro, Evil Geniuses, Vici Gaming, PSG.LGD, Fnatic, Team Liquid, and Ninjas in Pyjamas have already provided themselves with direct invitations.
