The Dota 2 marathon called The Berlin Major 2023 continues and we are pleased to present a betting tip for the BB Team - TSM match in the first round of the group stage.

We begin with an analysis of the BB Team's form. For some reason, the team is favored with odds around 1.8.

Quite strange to observe such a situation and even stranger, where do these figures come from in the first place. I understand that the gap is minimal, but I don't agree at all that BB will be the favourite.

As far as I'm concerned, several factors point to the irrelevant odds at once. The first, of course, is the performance of the BB Team.

The best tournament for BB in season 2023 was regional DPC league in Eastern Europe. The team managed to win it 7-0 in the first round.

Afterwards there was an obvious drop-off. It all started at The Lima Major 2023 where BB were nearly top-3 contenders but failed to progress even past the group stage. They finished in the top 16.

Degradation continued even further. After Lima Major 2023 the team returned to participating in tournaments with greenhouse conditions, i.e. they played in online events and regional leagues. There was no success there or there.

DPC 2023 Tour II was already in 3rd place. There were hopes for a local tournament, Pinnacle Cup: Malta Vibes #1. It seemed to be an easy walk for the BB Team level event, but Monaspa intervened and eliminated the BB Team in the third round of the tournament, which equals Top-9-16.

BB Team's problems at the upcoming The Berlin Major 2023 do not end with a blatantly weak performance. The BB Team's roster isn't all that smooth.

Pure will not make it to Germany due to visa problems. Resolut1on, who was Top 2 at last year's The International, is supposed to strengthen the team, but his arrival at the BB will entail role changes, which often lead to a worsening of the game.

Most popular BB Team heroes

The most used BB Team character is Storm Spirit (5 games, 60% win rate). In addition the team played Primal Beast and Pugna in position 4, and both heroes had 4 matches and 100% wins each.

Enchantress (4 matches, 25% wins), Beastmaster (4 games, 0% wins) appeared in spades.

To the above points we can safely add the release of patch 7.33, which clearly will not play in the hands of the shocked club. However, if you still believe in the success of the BB Team, bet on their victory with odds in the region of 1.8.

TSM's form

The BB Team will face TSM in this matchup. The American club will play in underdog status, and the odds for the team to win are at 1.9.

As I said above, such a figure is not very impressive. I agree that TSM is not a team which I would be willing to bet on, and even at a low odds, because they are not star-studded.

However, on the background of BB Team Timado and company look no worse, if not better. Here again, it's all about the club's performance.

TSM have twice been home league champions, winning DPC 2023: Tour I and Tour II in North America. I wouldn't claim that's a serious figure given the local competition, but at least Shopify Rebellion have beaten them twice, which is already a sign.

On the international stage TSMs have been mediocre, but comparisons are worthwhile; if we look at TSMs performance compared to BB Team, the former is slightly better.

Like BB Team, TSM failed at The Lima Major 2023, failing to qualify from the group there. However, they showed up at DreamLeague Season 19, where they finished in the top 8, making it to the second round of the competition.

In fact, the newly formed TSM roster has started to get the necessary experience of playing on the big stage and this will help in The Berlin Major 2023. That is if they make it to Germany in full squad.

In question was Kasane, who like Pure might have been denied a visa, but no word from the club, which means he should be there.

Most popular TSM heroes

Rubick (7 games, 57% win percentage) was the most popular TSM pick. Beastmaster (6 games, 50% wins), Disruptor (6 games, 33% wins), Lycan (5 games, 60% wins), Enchantress (5 times, 40% wins) were taken frequently.

Keep in mind the 7.33 patch factor. If you're ready to believe in the more experienced TSM on the big stage - bet on their victory with odds in the region of 1.9.

Predicted result of the match TSM - BB Team

The match should logically end in a draw. The odds and the general form of TSM hint at it. However, we shouldn't rule out a win for either side.

TSM have more game experience in major tournaments, and the BB Team, with Sav on the team and hundreds of games in the public domain, look like a team capable of quickly adapting to the new patch.

I'll believe in a draw, but this match seems to me the most unpredictable of all in the first round.

Bottom line: a draw.
