We continue to watch Worlds 2023, the premier event of the esports autumn. The massive League of Legends Long Run play-offs championship is ready to delight LoL fans with both its show and fiery matches. The former will be provided by Riot Games, while the latter is reserved for the participating teams of the Knockout Stage, including Gen.G with Bilibili Gaming.

The duel between Gen.G and Bilibili Gaming risks to become one of the most heresy quarter-final clashes of The International. Both clubs showed a very serious performance during the season: BLG made it to the MSI finals, while Gen.G are two-time LCK champions.

We are trying to figure out which of the teams will be stronger in this match and will move further down the grid, where they will meet the winner of NRG/Weibo Gaming pair.

Let's open the match with an analysis of Gen.G's form. The first team LCK will play in this match as favourites with odds to win at 1.27.

Last year Gen.G finished top 2 at LCK Spring 2022 and won at LCK Summer 2022, then travelled to Worlds 2022 where they lost dramatically in the grand final. However, this didn't do much to shake their position at the 2023 season's Long Segment.

In their first play-offs match for themselves, Gen.G crushed HLE. HLE 3-0 and now Gen.G are ready to advance to the league finals for the second consecutive time.

The Grand Final is a rematch of the playoffs. Last round Gen.G beat T1 3-2 in a very tough series and I think the final will be the same.

And in the grand finals, they did it too. And it was even easier than in the match to get here: Gen.G became the LCK Summer Split champion by beating T1 3-1.

Worlds 2023 Gen.G started off with a solid win over Gam Esports. It was fast and painful for Gam with 22 minutes and only 5 kills for the Vietnamese.

In a 2-0 basket match, Gen.G played against their counterparts, and by extension, bitter rivals T1. The South Korean derby, like the last 4, ended in favour of Gen.G, as Chovy and his Akali left T1 with nothing to lose.

Gen.G advanced to the Worlds 2023 play-offs with a score of 3-0. In their final group stage match, they played against G2 Esports and, expectedly easily, ran over the Europeans 2-0.

The most popular champion on the top line is Gnar (10 games, 90% wins). Jayce appeared 8 times and the winrate was 87%. Kenen was played 4 times and won all matches, KSante 4 times and 3 wins, Renekton 4 times and 2 wins.

Bilibili Gaming form

We continue the match breakdown with the analysis of Bilibili Gaming's form. Vice-champions LPL and MSI 2023 will play in the status of outsiders, with odds to win around 3.7.

Last season, BLG made a lightning leap into the top 2 of the Chinese region, thus clawing their way to the Mid-Season Invitational 2023. Another sensation happened at the international event: BLG made it to the grand finals, only to lose to JD Gaming.

Another plus for BLG is the roster renewed at Long Conference 2023. The club managed to assemble a top company.

After a really triumphant half-year, Bilibili Gaming has not slowed down at all. The team was the first to reach the LPL Summer 2023 play-offs, and also set a local record: the only team in the history of the series to finish the group stage with one defeat.

In the first match of the play-offs, TES faced off. The game was played under the dictation of vice-champions LPL Spring 2023 and BLG beat TES very confidently with a score of 3-1.

In the final of the upper grid Bilibili Gaming played against their principal rival - JD Gaming team. The reigning LPL champions left their colleagues no chance and shut down BLG with a score of 3-0.

Unlike the spring split, BLG had a slightly less confident performance in the summer. The vice-champions of the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 ended the summer split in third place, Ledgeiv in the match to advance to the LNG Esports Grand Final with a 1-3 score.

Bilibili Gaming got a pretty serious opponent in their first match at Worlds 2023. Yagao and company played against South Korea's top 3, KT Rolster, and in a 45 minute battle they were stronger.

Next up was JD Gaming and there was no way to win. However, Ledge and the first team of China, BLG got a "free" round against Fnatic, thus making the score 2-1.

BLG ran into T1 in a 2-1 basket and it didn't bode well for the Chinese club. T1 won and went on to advance, while Bilibili Gaming travelled to the net 2-2.

In the final Swiss clash, they met G2 Esports. Bilibili won 2-1, sending the first team in Europe home.
