We continue to look at what's happening on the international League of Legends scene. This time we are talking about what is happening in the Chinese region, at the same time the biggest league on the professional scene - LPL Spring 2024.

There, at LPL Spring 2024, the regular season, aka the group stage, is heating up. The second day of matches starts, and Oh My God and Team WE will open it.

The match, let's face it, is not the top match. However, we must realise that China is a top region and there shouldn't be any absolutely passable matches.

Let's try to figure out which team will be stronger and earn the first victory for themselves, and who will have to start a long journey with a defeat.

Team WE uniforms

Let's start the match breakdown with an analysis of Team WE's uniforms. In this match WE will play as favourites with odds to win at around 1.8.

Last season Team WE frankly failed. The team took 15th place at LPL Spring 2022 and 17th at LPL Summer 2022. However, it was possible to improve a bit during the LPL Spring 2023.

Making it to the play-offs of LPL Spring 2023 is already an indicator. Team WE won 8 matches out of 16 played to advance to the main stage. However, they failed to move further into the top 10.

After a very poor performance on the home stage, Team WE continued to play in the LPL, namely at the summer split - LPL Summer 2023. In the course of the tournament, WE managed to finish in the top 9 of the group stage, thus guaranteeing themselves a play-offs appearance. However, everything ended in the first round of the main stage: WE lost to EDG with a score of 1-3 and left the championship, having finished LPL Summer 2023 in the top 10.

Prior to playing at Demacia Cup 2023, Team WE also played at NEST 2023. It was another hybrid Asian championship where professionals and amateurs play in one place. There WE played very confidently in the group, took the 2nd place and entered the play-offs, but were immediately beaten by JD Gaming. As a result - TOP-6.

At Demacia Cup they are approaching with an experimental lineup. Prince is NOT the core, but otherwise it's pretty serious. However, this did not help Team WE to get out of the group: at the end of Demacia Cup 2023 the team ranked TOP-12, which is not a good result.

On the top line, Team WE has no revelations. The team picks KSante (4 matches, 50% wins), Renekton (3 games, 33% wins), Gnar (3 matches, 66% wins).

In the forest all the same, more or less standard: VI (7 games, 57% wins), Maokai (3 games, 66% wins), Poppy and Sejuani 2 matches and 0 wins each.

On the centre line with no deviations. There are Azir (4 matches, 50% wins), Ryze (4 games, 50% wins), Syndra (2 games, 50% wins), Cassiopeia (2 matches, 50% wins).

The championship among shooters is held by Lucian. Champion appeared 5 times, but won only 2 matches. Tried to Zeri, but failed: 0-3 in three appearances.

Among the supporting champions, Nami was a success. She was picked up 5 times, and her winrate was 40%. Yummi (3 games, 0% win rate) and Ashe (3 games, 66% win rate) were also picked.

Oh My God Form.

We continue our match breakdown with an analysis of Oh My God's match form. In this match, they are playing as a number two, with odds to win around 2. Expect a close match.

OMG are not known for their iconic performance, but have been somewhere in the middle for virtually their entire history. That was also the case in 2022, when OMG were ranked in the top 10 of LPL Summer 2022.

OMG looked much more formidable after the restarts before the start of the 2023 season. Their first big result was a top-4 finish at LPL Spring 2023, and that's quite an accomplishment.

At the end of LPL Summer 2023, Oh My God finished in the top 8. They advanced to the play-offs, the second round of the main stage where they played against EDward Gaming. They failed to beat the title club, as a result 2-3.

In addition to participating in the regional championships of the LPL series, OMG played at the local event NEST 2023. There, by the way, Oh My God showed a really high level of play. Despite their sluggish play in the group stage, having reached the play-offs from the second place of their basket, Oh My God beat Bilibili and FunPlus Phoenix in turn, but reaching the finals could not match Royal Never Give Up.

Before the 2024 Long Season, the team played at the Demacia Cup 2023. They were not successful there: 2-2 in the group stage and were eliminated from the tournament at the TOP-16 stage.

The pool of players is quite familiar. Karma (2 games, 50% wins), Yuumi (2 matches, 100% wins), Nami (2 games, 50% wins).

Team WE - Oh my God

The teams have played each other twice in 2023. Both times OMG won.

In this match we should expect an even game. Firstly, the odds point to that, and secondly, the overall performance of the teams on the professional scene, even fresh, when the teams played essentially identical Demacia Cup 2023. Which means that in this match, I'm going to believe in an Oh My God win. They beat WE last season, and looked more respectable overall.
